To keep our highways functioning, we pay the following taxes:
- Federal excise taxes are 18.3 cents per gallon of gasoline
- Federal excise taxes are 24.3 cents per gallon on diesel fuel
- Federal excise taxes for a Leaking Underground Storage Tank fee of 0.1 cents per gallon on both gasoline and diesel
- The average of all state taxes are 28.68 cents on gasoline
- The average of all state taxes are 30.43 cents on diesel
